Skin tags are typically small, benign growths that commonly appear on the skin. They often develop in areas where skin rubs against clothing or other skin and are not harmful or painful.
In this minimally invasive treatment, a trained professional removes skin tags with a plasma pen. This is a handheld device which uses a high-frequency electrical current to create a small plasma arc. The arc is then directed at the skin tag, causing it to dry up and fall off. The plasma cauterizes the targeted without transferring heat to the surrounding area. Afterwards, the skin may be slightly red and swollen while a scab develops. This usually resolves within a few days and the procedure typically requires no downtime.
